The final burial rites of the late Veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, are currently taking place in his hometown of Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The beloved actor, who passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62 after a prolonged illness, being laid to rest on June 28, 2024. Viral videos circulating on social media have captured the solemn procession, with pallbearers carrying Mr. Ibu’s casket to the cemetery for the burial ceremony.

Family members, mourners, and members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) have gathered to pay their respects and honor the life of this iconic figure in the Nigerian film industry. The funeral proceedings will be wrapped up on Sunday, June 30, with a church thanksgiving service attended by family, friends, and sympathizers.
