AKA proves once again why he should be the president of the Republic of Satafrika!

South Africa came together in unity as pledges poured in on twitter for the #KFCProposal couple Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat.

Within just a couple of hours after Hector and Nonhlanhla's proposal video went viral, South Africans were already planning the couple’s second wedding (the lovebirds had their first wedding in 2012).

In the heat of all the brand contributions and what have you, Keenan ‘AKA’ Forbes took to twitter to ridicule brands for suddenly having money to sponsor those in need of financial aid.

Here's what he said:
“If only brands could come together like this to pay student debt. Seems like they suddenly have money.”

There were a whole lot of people who agreed with AKA's sentiments - even Somizi concurred with the rapper's view!

Of course, AKA also received a fair share of backlash for 'choosing the wrong time' to address the issue of student debts.

While AKA's comment went on to receive more mixed reactions, one social media user came up with a suggestion that would later trend nationwide as #FeesMustFallMegaConcert.

The grand suggestion - which was initially meant to be sarcastic - was that AKA should have a concert where he performs for free to raise funds for students with tertiary debts.

And guess what? He agreed!

Overnight AKA’s #FeesMUSTFallMegaConcert topped the twitter trending list with AKA encouraging South Africans to tag the brands and companies that supported the KFC Couple.
Suggestions from social media users have been pouring in, from marketing strategies to when the concert should be!

So far the ‘Back To The City International Hip Hop Festival’ have been the first to offer help..

We’re looking forward to seeing how far this initiative will go.
