Great News: Annie Deserves Her Own Reality Show Here’s Why

v2 180

It’s undeniable that the Real Housewives of Durban is a smashing success. Watching rich women just trying to have fun parties and sort out their personal lives is, strangely enough, one of the best ways to unwind these days.

Of all the cast members, however, little is known about Anne-Tonni Ludick-Mthembu (better known to fans as Annie) beside her cute beauty parlor and risqué dance moves on the show.

Do yourself a favor and scroll through her IG, and you’ll see this girl’s life deserves its own camera crew!

As we all know, Annie became Mrs. Mthembu recently, celebrating the occasion with a white wedding and making that storyline part of season 1 of Real Housewives of Durban. But many may actually not be aware that the Annie and Kgolo ‘Da Guru’ Mthembu were already wed in a traditional Zulu ceremony in Soweto back in 2018.

Annie playfully refers to herself and her husband as “Da Gurus”, and sweetly says that she is excited about her married future.

That being so, let’s get into the reasons why television producers should consider giving Mrs. Annbition, as she calls herself, her very own reality television spin-off.

One thing we love to see on TV is a unique personality. With her mix of Coloured, black and even American cultural influences, Annie has inspiration to offer to young women.

Many of the quotes she posts on Instagram show that you don’t need to be serious all the time to be a success.
v5 21
Speaking of success, Annie runs her boutique beauty spa Anaesthetic in Durban, and it would be fascinating to delve deeper into this aspect of her life if she had her own show.

To see how she interacts with employees, meetings with investors and events she arranges. Some reality stars are very boring because they either sit at home or go to a restaurant, but Annie is actually a busy woman!

It’s easy to become ordinary in terms of fashion these days – trendy clothes are cheap and anyone can look fab at any time. Annie chooses to steal attention by regularly turning up to places in pink – and it’s so fabulous!

You’d think the trope of girly girls and pink is outdated, but Annie shows through her fashion choices that she knows what she’s doing.

Should she get one, her show would look fantastic with pink branding and the typographic posts she likes to make. I find there’s a certain sophisticated cultivation behind how she wears pink and uses youthful lettering to convey powerful messages to women.

I must say, I was surprised to find that Annie is a Well-traveled lady! It seems that vacation is her religion – scrolling through her story tabs is an almost endless string of countries and major cities.

Annie can bring content – if she had her own show we wouldn’t just be watching her go between her home and the office. She’d be taking us along on her trips to Paris, New York, Paris.

I believe Annie’s travels are lesser known because she is a humble woman. People think she is boastful when she is actually confident and assertive. If she was a braggard, she’d already have a nickname alluding to her well-stamped passport by now.

Another major motivation for Annie to get her own show is the fact that she already runs an Instagram page documenting her travels around the world with her husband. The following is small but the couple seem to be able to find hotspots which always results in captivating pictures.

I’m personally a fan of ensemble reality TV like Keeping Up With the Kardashians or the Real Housewives franchise itself – I usually find it conceited if one, solitary person has their own show.

But Annie is one of the rare few who are actually interesting enough to pull this off on their own. Surprisingly enough, Annie revealed that she is not a very sociable person, preferring to spend her time with already close family and friends.

Like so many others in the Housewives franchise such as Nene Leakes, Bethenny Frankel and Kyle Richards, she has the personality and a buzzing lifestyle to hold her own.

“So, it was a bit of a growing experience for me to meet new people and be comfortable around them and to be able to be myself around new people without feeling self-conscious or anxious. But yeah, I really came out of my shell and have learnt quite a lot about myself,” she told Masego Seemela of Times Live.

For the time being, it would be so fun to see her on a YouTube Channel, travel vlogging and giving behind the scenes looks at her beauty salon.

She is clearly adept at social media marketing. She can captivate the youth as well as engage with older women; she can show the wild side but also the chic international travel side.

Not to mention, Annie is absolutely gorgeous with her Mediterranean looks, viewers will always be looking forward to what she does with her hair and makeup.

As an avid traveler, I think Annie has a wealth of cultural education, which is something not many of us get to experience. The Culture Trip says people who travel a lot are entertaining, inspiring and they’ll keep you on your toes.

All in all, Mrs. Annbition is reality TV gold!
