While Tito Mboweni was known for sharing his opinion of politics, cooking, and travel adventures on his popular X account, little is known about his family life.
According to reports, Tito married an unidentified woman while in exile in Lesotho. The couple – who had a child together – separated.
Delivering a tribute to his father, Sello revealed that he shared a different mother to his siblings.
He said: “He gave so much love to his family, his brothers, myself and my mother and Tumi and Tumi and Pule’s mother.
While he may not be with us in body, his spirit remains. His legacy lives in the stories he would tell, the laughter he brought us, and the lessons he passed down”.

A FOURTH SON?
Speaking to The South African this week, influencer and reality TV star Lerato “Habibi” Makgatho claimed Tito Mboweni had also fathered a son with her.
Lerato added that she had been in a relationship with the former Reserve Bank Governor from 2016 to 2019. He said: “He was a great man who truly loved me. I am the one who messed up. His sudden death really hurt me”.
Lerato – who attended the state funeral – claimed both she and Tito mutually decided to keep their son out of the spotlight.
She added, “The boy will be well taken care of. Whatever happens after the funeral, we will cross that bridge when we get there.”
