Kelly Khumalo speaks her mind on Senzo Meyiwa’s death – I have been quiet for too long

Singer and actress Kelly Khumalo have released a video during which she speaks her mind on Senzo Meyiwa’s death and alleges that the law is failing women in South Africa. Kelly who seems to be very emotional and maybe a touch inebriated is drinking Controversy Gin within the video and speaks with a thick Russian accent.

Kelly says that it’s tough being a lady in South Africa and claims that she may be a victim of the system. She accuses the police of not doing their job regarding the murder of her lover and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa. She says the matter of Senzo’s murder must be put to rest and laments that the matter remains unresolved six years later. Senzo was shot and killed during a robbery on 26 October 2014.

Kelly says the system and therefore the laws are very questionable and are failing women during a very major way in South Africa. She says people responsible got to do their job and have the crime solved. The actress argues that she is one who is suffering emotionally and professionally until the matter is resolved because the general public must hold someone accountable.

Speaking within the video, Kelly says:

“I became a victim of this matter for several years. Someone responsible isn’t doing anything.

…It’s easy for them to shut up because they don’t need to live each day in my shoes. I even have a country that hates me. I even have a country that swears at me on a day.

I have to deal (sic) with this. Do I deserve this? No, I don’t. Again, as a lady, the law during this country, she failing me. The system during this country, she failing me. When is Daila Spolicia getting to do their jobs. When is someone responsible for getting to do their job,

Really, this is often very exhausting.”
