Khanyi Mbau has used her Instagram stories to disassociate herself from an Instagram account that uses her image.

Khanyi also used the chance to alert her fans and followers about the bogus @thabo catherine account, which features photographs of her on its feed. Fake social media profiles impersonating prominent persons have become increasingly popular, with more people falling victim to frauds perpetrated by these accounts.

Innocent admirers are frequently the victims of celebrity impersonation frauds. More celebrities are speaking out against bogus accounts and pushing their followers to do the same.

Once the account has been hacked, online scammers ask the celebrity’ friends, families, and followers for money, among other things. Khanyi shared a screenshot of the phony account on Instagram and requested her followers to help her report it.

“Be on the lookout for a fake account!” Khanyi exclaimed, “Please report!” However, it takes time for this to happen, and victims suffer in the interim.
