She explained: “I think it’s partly the ratings also because the level of honesty that ‘Life with Kelly Khumalo’ came with.

“And to not discredit any reality shows that we’ve within the country but it had been never about the standard that folks realize , you know, that shows possessions and whatnot.

“This show was purely about me and zip else.”

“This is my story and I’m not trying to line any record straight. I still stand by my word,” Khumalo added.

The first episode opened with gogo (grandmother) back reception , much to the delight of Christian and Thingo, who is Khumalo’s daughter with the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa.

Although a heartwarming sight, the problems between Khumalo and her mom remains an elephant within the room.

“What I’ve learned is that the maximum amount as i’ll have my reservations where my mom cares , it’s still mum and she or he remains my children’s grandma and that i owe it to myself to undertake and amend where I can.”

Just as there seems to be a touch of progress, there’s another setback – Ntombi wants her own place.

The singer admitted: “Ja, that was a blow that I wasn’t expecting. but, also, it seems like deed .

“What is wrong with this home, you know. Because for us to seek out our way and rebuild the connection that has numerous cracks, is for us to be under an equivalent roof. I still have reservations where that’s concerned.

“But if she is taking that upon herself, then that’s her decision.

“At the top of the day, I’ve learned to not dictate peoples lives. they create their own choices. They choose what makes them happy.”

On the reception of “Voice of Africa”, her eighth studio album, she said: “Oh my, the feedback is crazy.
