Lunga Shabalala who plays Lindani Dhlomo has finally addressed rumors of being fired and his departure from The River.

Lunga Shabalala has remained positive throughout his journey on The River despite the criticism he received while appearing on 1Magic’s The River. The TV presenter model and actor is seemingly already performing on his next TV project.

Shabalala surprised many when he made his debut as an actor playing Lindani on The River 2years ago and has now confirmed that his journey with the show has ended.

“The River was a tremendous experience and I’m grateful for the chance to be a part of such a tremendous team. I’ve definitely made friends and family for all times there,” he said.

Although the actor didn’t want to reveal his next move, the 31-year-old from Pietermaritzburg, KZN, recently posted an image of himself on social media on the set of his new gig.

“I can’t reveal much at this stage. But I even have another project arising, which can be revealed soon. I anticipate to what God has future on behalf of me ,” Shabalala said.

The 31-year-old actor said he wasn’t moved by the criticism about his acting skills he received recently as people talked all the time and chose to stay positive and prayerful.

“You can’t stop your life due to the fear of what people will say because they always have something to mention,” he said.

The former SABC 1 Selimathunzi and SABC 3 presenter said he was grateful to those that showed him love on the show.

He further elaborated: “There were people that showed me, love, especially with the cheating storyline. “I received tons of compliments from people that saw my improvement,” said Lunga.

Lindani just divorced his long-term girlfriend on the show. Expect Lindani to still appear on The River for a short time as shows shoot a couple of weeks beforehand.
