Actor Melusi Mbele, recognized for portraying Jojo Kubeka in Scandal!, has bid farewell to the show. His abrupt departure announcement has astonished fans, considering his character’s substantial influence attributed to his outstanding acting skills.


Mbele won a Safta (South African Film and Television Award) in 2023 for portraying Jojo. IOL confirms he won Best Actor in a TV Soap for this beloved character.The actor bids farewell on his Instagram, expressing gratitude for the support from the show’s producers and fans.

His iconic portrayals of Zolani in Rhythm City, Bekhumuzi in Isibaya, Vuyo in Soul City, and Dumi Hadebe in Muvhango have solidified his presence in the industry.

Furthermore, Melusi showcases his talent through the complex character of Sizwe in the latest Showmax production entitled Umakoti Wethu. Notably, his remarkable performance as Bekhumuzi in Isibaya garnered him a well-deserved nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the prestigious South African Film and Television Awards Golden Horn ceremony in 2019.


Actress Lerato Nxumalo said goodbye to her role on Scandal! In an interview with Sunday World, Nxumalo expressed how playing the character Phakamile was truly a delightful experience, treasuring every single moment she had on set.

“Playing Phakamile has been such a beautiful experience. I enjoyed every single moment because I feel like I grew so much. Working with the team that successfully grew me as an actor has been such an honour. Thank you so much to Ochre Media and e.tv. For the growth opportunity that you guys have given me.For all that you guys have done for me, I am very very much appreciative. Mathews Rantsoma, who plays the character Nhlamulo, is the third actor to officially exit from etvScandal. The television series made a public statement confirming his departure, revealing that his final appearance on the show will be on July 24th.

“Matthews approached us to advise us that he would like to pursue other ventures. The production and the channel support his decision and have agreed to release him. He will exit the story at the end of July. We wish success in his future,” reads the statement
