Zimbabwean-South African rapper Nadia Nakai celebrated slain rapper AKA’s 37th birthday with his daughter Kairo Forbes on Tuesday 28 January.

NADIA NAKAI AND KAIRO FORBES CELEBRATE AKA’S 37TH BIRTHDAY

Slain rapper AKA would have celebrated his 37th birthday on Tuesday 28 January. The Fela in Versace hitmaker was shot dead outside of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on 10 February 2023. At the time of his death, he was in a relationship with Nadia.

Nadia shared photos of herself with Kairo holding a cake with the number 37 on the candles as they celebrated the birthday. AKA’s mom Lynn Forbes was also seen in the photos as well as Kairo’s younger sister Asante Mohosana and DJ Zinhle’s helper Zama. Take a look…

“Kairo is the ONE! 💜. Happy Heavenly Birthday @akaworldwide love and miss you forever! 💜 🕊️,” she wrote.

AKA and DJ Zinhle welcomed Kairo in 2015. In 2021, DJ Zinhle welcomed her second child, Asante with musician Bongani Mohosana, popularly known as Murdah Bongz.

NADIA NAKAI BREAKS DOWN OVER AKA

On the third season of Young, Famous & African, Nadia opened up about losing AKA and how she is not okay and needs therapy, but she is not ready to unpack. This was in a conversation with Ghanaian singer Francine Nyanko Koffie, popularly known as Fantana.

“It’s difficult, just maneuvering life, you know? Low-key I’m not fine, and I know I need to go to therapy. But I don’t see that happening any time soon… I just have too much to unpack,” she said to Fantana.

In her confessional session, she revealed that she tells people she is fine because she doesn’t want them to worry. She went on to say that she does feel okay, until she is alone.

“My person is gone. So, it’s difficult. After losing Kiernan I like to tell people that I’m fine because I don’t want to worry people. And I feel like I’m okay to a certain extent until I’m alone,” she continued.

Nadia went on to reveal that her friends who do their best to ensure that she wasn’t left alone.
