Mohale Motaung is a man of his words. Last month he promised to help a family from Uitenhage, in the Eastern Cape, that lost everything when their home burnt down.

Taking to his social media platforms this week, Mohale revealed that he together with the Collen Mashawana Foundation, visited the family, and they have agreed to build a house for the family.

He added, “I can’t even begin to express how happy the family is – I am grateful 😇 Thank you to everyone who is helping with this, and a special thank you to the coll and the #AddHope team from @kfcsouthafrica for helping with some food for the family.”

Mohale had initially appealed to his followers to help him help this family in need. He also shared that the family’s 3-year-old baby was badly injured.

“The family has suffered a great deal and are currently living in temporary accommodation. We are also looking to rebuild their home with the help of contractors and the community…So while this is an unusual request, I’m appealing to my followers to assist in doing more for this family. Any assistance is welcome,” he wrote.

This is another one of Mohale’s continued philanthropy work. Back in 2020 he donated R200 000 in food vouchers to 50 families together with his estranged husband Somizi Mhlongo through their Somhale foundation.

“We came up with this amazing idea where we decided to start a foundation, and we call it the Somhale Foundation, and our aim is to make this world a better place one person at a time.

“We’re giving away R500 worth of vouchers that we bought at Makro so that they can buy themselves groceries, and we’ve chosen 400 families,” Somizi said in a video that was shared on Instagram also adding that their aim was to change the world, one person at a time.

Another Mzansi celeb who recently announced that she has taken an initiative to help those in need is rapper and reality TV star Gigi Lamayne. She tweeted that she wants to pay registration fees for several students this year.

Dropping a follow-up tweet Gigi said she received an overwhelming response and she will help where she can. She tweeted, “I can’t help everyone. That breaks my heart. I’ll go through as many as I can. I’m so sorry for those I won’t be able to assist. I pray God grants me an idea so big, I could make money just for this cause annually.”
