Mohale Tebogo Motaung has squashed those divorce rumours.

A lot has been said and written about the state of Mohale Motaung and Somizi Mhlongo’s marriage.

The couple, which coined the portmanteau Somhale, wed in September 2019 during a traditional wedding that might easily contend for the marriage of the year. In January 2020, the couple had their dreamy white wedding, which, just like the traditional wedding, was star-studded and opulent.

Months later, however, the rumour mill was plagued with stories of a few looming divorce. It didn’t help that social media had, before the pair getting married, painted Mohale with the “gold digger” brush. Many were of the view that the businessman and actor were only after Somizi’s riches and was using him as a ladder to form it in life.

Things escalated from there between the couple when it had been reported that they were set to divorce and had already separated. Mohale was imagined to are cheating on Somizi with a married businessman who was also a lover to Somizi.

“The guy is married to a lady and has kids. that’s why Somizi didn’t begin about this because he wanted to be sensitive to guard the guy’s young children. The guy is additionally financially powerful, so he doesn’t want to tug his name and reputation,” a source had told City Press.

All of this fuelled rumours of a love triangle between the couple and Somzi’s ally and singer Vusi Nova. After spending his birthday and New Years Eve with Vusi Nova and Mohale apparently going MIA (Missing In Action), people were convinced that there truly was trouble in paradise.

Drama then ensued between the town Press journalist liable for the cheating and divorce rumour article after the article was published. The Idols judge was fuming and wanted to understand why the journalist was driving a false narrative about his marriage. He also wanted to understand why people were so invested in his love life; especially during the festive season once they should be enjoying their time with their loved ones.

The divorce rumours continued making headlines when both Somizi and Mohale were seen in several social media posts without their wedding rings. Fans also noticed that the 2 personalities had removed each other’s surnames from their social media display names. All of this, including the various social media videos Somizi was sharing without Mohale, but Vusi Nova instead, was enough for people to believe that the Living The Dream With Somizi reality star had found comfort within the arms of the ‘Thandiwe’ hitmaker.

Finally, however, Somhale fans can speak of facts and not rumours because Mohale has decided to interrupt his silence about the state of his marriage to Somizi.

In an interview with The Citizen, the Rockville season 5 actor who plays the role of Zamani, stated that he won’t be divorcing his husband. The actor admitted that things between them are rocky immediately , but also added that this is often how relationshipes are sometimes.

“I am not getting a divorce. People are saying i’m getting a divorce, where guys? Marriages undergo some things, ups and downs. So people take what they see and that they run with it. There was just a phase like all other couple, we aren’t getting a divorce. Things are okay,” Mohale was quoted as saying.
