In her lengthy letter, the actress expressed her gratitude thanking Netflix for giving her a chance.

“As I was traveling back home today with my girl @mbaureloaded, she reminded me of my journey at Netflix, how it started and how it has progressed,” she wrote.

She also mentioned the hit shows that she has worked on and said it has been a joy ride. She said: “I’ve had it all sink in. I’ve taken stock of how this global streaming network took a chance on a South African young girl and trusted her on the first US remake of the hit show, Black Mirror, and play an American in it with no dialect training or background whatsoever.

“Then came the birth of @netflixsa and they made sure I was along the ride of their African originals: How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding, they licensed our legal drama Diamond City which truly showcased more of my craft as a lead; a thriller that’s never been done locally before on Dead Places; and now my first film, a Box Office Hit sequel, Happiness Ever After, as their leading lady.”

Wrapping up her love letter, Nambitha thanked Netflix for investing in her brand. “Thank you Netflix for taking a chance on me, for honing my talent, training, and investing in me as a brand, but most importantly, giving me a platform as a dark-skinned woman of color, to tell my story to 214 million people across 190 countries worldwide.

“I am in awe of God’s continued favor and destiny over my life. Thank you to the key players such as my agent @nashodabilly, the production companies, and the cast and crew who have carried me throughout this journey.”

A few days ago she announced for the first time that she is a leading lady for the Box Office Hit sequel titled Happiness Ever After coming soon on Netflix.

“I can finally announce, that I am the new leading lady, to the @blingola_m Box Office Hit sequel, #HappinessEverAfter, a @netflixsa original coming this summer! It truly can only be God’s unlimited grace. Thank you, Jesus,” she wrote on Instagram.

The film’s creator Bongiwe Selane told TshisaLive that she is looking forward to people finally seeing the film.

“I’m super-excited about Happiness Ever After and being able to continue the uber-relatable story of sisterhood, friendship, and love. Sequels are always difficult because the pressure is that much higher, but they also offer something different and exciting — and the opportunity to land the film on a global service like Netflix is its own reward. It is my sincere hope that the film resonates with audiences, and they fall back in love with their favorites and the new faces too,” the publication quoted Selane.
