Palesa Thembekwayo has now opened a case of common assault against him at the Douglasdale Police Station.

He was reportedly arrested and released on bail on Monday (5 December) and appeared briefly in the Randburg magistrate’s court on Wednesday (6 December).

The publication reports that the case is likely to be converted to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The spokesperson for the Gauteng provincial police, Mavela Masondo confirmed to the publication that the businessman was arrested for common assault.

Masondo said he appeared in the Randburg magistrate’s court last Wednesday and said the case was postponed to next year (2022).

Thembekwayo denied that he was arrested when he was contacted and said he was not home last weekend.

The author has now released a statement on his Twitter account which states that he maintains his innocence and will prove this in the appropriate forum.

“Why are you exposing her that she’s battling with substance abuse?”

“I wish you didn’t add the substance abuse part.”
