Nhlanhla Mafu goes solo after alleged fallout with Theo Kgosinkwe
Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Mafu is reportedly pursuing a solo music career after allegedly having a disagreement with Theo earlier this year.
Mafikizolo’s lead vocalist Nhlanhla Mafu is said to be embarking on a journey to pursue her solo music career.
NHLANHLA CHARTS SOLO CAREER
Mafikizolo has been together since the 1990s and has captured the hearts of many with their vocals and hit songs.
Their third member, Tebogo Madingoane, passed away on February 14, 2004, shortly after the release of their self-titled album, Mafikizolo. Following Tebogo’s passing, the group continued making music and remained united and strong.
However, ZiMoja, reports that there is tension behind the scenes, as Nhlanhla plans to focus on her solo career and step back from the group.
The publication reports that the singer has been accepting solo gigs apart from her work with Mafikizolo and has recently launched a new single called “Ngithanda Wena,” featuring DJ Tira and Amatycooler.
IS THERE TENSION BETWEEN NHLANHLA AND THEO?
A close friend informed the publication that Nhlanhla and Theo had a disagreement earlier this year.
“She is definitely pushing harder on her solo career and taking her own bookings outside of the duo.”
“It’s about time. People still love Mafikizolo but every group member needs to pursue a career outside of the group,” said the source.
Nhlanhla told the outlet that she and Theo have always had different managers because they represent unique brands within Mafikizolo.
Speaking to ZiMoja, she said that although they work together as a group with the same manager, they sometimes exchange information about their personal projects, whether they are related to the group or their solo endeavours
