The previous Fifth Harmony star is quick to ensure there is a lot of “portrayal” in the music business with regards to “young ladies that resemble [her]”, and thinks being a “positive model” and good example to young ladies will assist that with dreaming become a reality.

She stated: “Portrayal, similar to I generally state, is vital. To be a young lady that resembles myself, I simply feel like [being a good example] is an aspect of my heritage.”

“It’s me needing to make better open doors for us, and furthermore only for individuals who imagine that they got us made sense of. [I need to show that] we are multifaceted and able to do considerably more than we get kudos for, in the music business, and furthermore in the public arena. I sense that I have an obligation.”

Normani additionally says she adores the outflow of “female strengthening” that is clearing the music business, and needs to see more ladies going to bat for themselves and coming out “on top”.

She included: “I feel like we’re in a period in music where ladies – and Black ladies – are truly on top, which is something I feel like we haven’t found in an extremely, long time. Where I originate from, we were about female strengthening. What’s more, the 24-year-old vocalist needs to “change lives” through her own music.

She revealed to Teen Vogue magazine: “Truly, for me, it’s greater than the music. As much as I love what I do, I need to change lives and I need to reach the same number of individuals as I can.
