Oscar Mbo allegedly banned from performing in Limpopo

Oscar Mbo is said to have allegedly been banned from performing in Limpopo following a recent disagreement with Makhadzi.

Musician Oscar Mbo is said to have allegedly been banned from performing in Limpopo after clashing with award-winning singer Makhadzi a few weeks ago.

OSCAR MBO ALLEGEDLY FACES THREATS
According to a tweet on X by MDN News, Noko Resort announced on Thursday, October 31, that they had postponed the “Yebo God Summer” event due to safety reasons. The highly-anticipated event was set to feature performers such as Oscar Mbo and Mörda.

The event’s postponment comes after Makhadzi and Oscar Mbo made headlines following allegations levelled against the musician’s team. Makhadzi accused the musician and his team of deliberately removing her USB drive during her set, which interrupted her performance.

Makhadzi’s fans allegedly called for Oscar Mbo to be banned from performing in the province after allegedly sabotaging her performance.

YEBO GOD SUMMER EVENT POSTPONED

In an lengthy statement, the festival stated that they had decided to postpone the event because of threats against one of their main performers.

“In light of recent events, we at Noko Resort have made the difficult decision to postpone our highly anticipated event, originally scheduled for Saturday, 2 November 2024.

“This decision comes after thorough deliberation and in response to threats directed at one of our main performers. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of everyone involved – our loyal patrons, talented performers, partners and dedicated staff.

“We understand the excitement that has surrounded this event, and we know how much our guests were looking forward to it.

“Please rest assured that we share your disappointment, as we too, were eagerly preparing for an unforgettable experience. At this time, however, we must act responsibly to ensure that we provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.”

@Oracle5152 wrote: “Other provinces will ban Makhadzi and Karishma if this is the case. What’s up with the division? If they don’t get along, they must personally deal with each other and stop messing up with their bags because all of these artists have fans residing all over these provinces.”

@TheGeopol wrote: “Oscar Mbo shouldn’t set foot in Limpopo. He can perform in the rural areas of Mpumalanga or KZN, but not PLK. We have no room for disrespect. Makhadzi has more hits than this chance-taker Oscar, and disrespecting Karishma is the same as disrespecting all of Limpopo.”

@mqhelenqabankos commented “This isn’t a smart move. They will quickly realise that when the rest of the big artists decline gig requests from them, now Makhadzi is the only artist they are left with. Never inherit beef, unless it’s your mother they beefing with.”

OSCAR MBO ISSUES AN APOLOGY TO MAKHADZI

In a live session with Makhadzi, Oscar Mbo expressed his apologies to the Limpopo singer and explained the circumstances surrounding the incident.

He pointed out that the situation was partly due to inadequate coordination by the event organiser and mentioned that there was an understanding to split their performance times evenly, as Makhadzi had arrived late.

This wasn’t the first time he faced accusations of sabotaging an artist’s performance. A few weeks ago, Kharishma alleged that the musician’s team forcibly removed her from the stage during her set at the Blouberg Spring Annual Festival in Limpopo.

In response to the allegations, he apologised to Kharishma.
