Amapiano sensation Sir Trill—born Mzwakhe Tumelo Zwane—is making headlines after he took to social media to swipe at an unnamed producer who is sabotaging him.

The star made it known that the producer is making it hard for him to drop new songs.

Taking to Instagram stories, Sir Trill revealed that his latest project is currently experiencing setbacks because other stars are dumping him in the eleventh hour because of someone’s influence.

No doubt Sir Trill is not happy with a certain producer in the amapiano genre. However, despite not revealing the name of the person he referred to as ‘Grootman’, Mzansi quickly included DJ Maphorisa in the mix.

While venting his struggles, Sir Trill has it that he hasn’t dropped new music because the unknown producer is blacklisting him. He has it that several artists refuse to work with him because of the alleged Grootman’s influence.

Sir Trill posted, “It won’t change the fact that I know the person you are, and I will never respect you or kiss your back. I’m one kid who won’t kiss your back or buy your stuff. I’d rather quit than kiss your back. So you are so scared of what I can become without you.”

“You are scared that I am him. You are scared that I can be a better you one day,” a frustrated Sir Trill further ranted.

The post has gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet. Mzansi was quick to flood social media with their two cents.

However, celebrated producer and singer Prince Kaybee urged Sir Trill to confront the alleged gatekeeper head-on. ‘Face another man head-on when you have a problem. Going through the corners is a tedious process,” the DJ wrote.

However, this is not the first time he has opened up about his struggles. Sir Trill seemingly had his shot at fame as an independent but reportedly tied himself to an unknown record label that exploited him.

In February 2023, he said he hadn’t received a cent from his smash hits and admitted that several people had done him dirty. Taking to social media, he posted, “It’s tiring and mentally damaging. So many hits, and I’ve never seen a cent. I’m tired.”

Sir Trill added, “Never been an artist that talks much or exposes much. This will be a joke to some of you, which I understand. But it’s mentally damaging and exhausting. What are we working so much for?”

Mzansi quickly alleged that Sir Trill was under BlaqBoy Music, which controversial DJ Maphorisa owns. In recent years, DJ Maphorisa has often hogged headlines for the wrong reasons, from gatekeeping to exploitation allegations.
