South Africa’s Best Beauty centers Trends

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with jazzing up your beauty look.

Whether it’s a bold lip, the latest hairstyle or the must-have product for your face, beauty is a billion Rand industry. And women, and men, are keen to pay thousands for the latest treatments, beauty tools and accessories.

Here’s some of the beauty trends South Africa’s celebrities and influencers couldn’t get enough of.

Long, Luscious Lashes (LLL)

Yes, longer and fuller lashes are a thing – and that’s even before mascara is applied.

And if you don’t have long luscious lashes, take inspiration from the TLC song Unpretty – “if you can’t grow it, buy it”.

And there’s options – either fake lashes which will have to be removed every evening, or getting lash extensions. They last longer up to three months, of taken proper care of.

It is a process though as lash extensions are applied one at a time, with some serious super strong glue.

When it comes to beauty trends, there’s always a new way of getting the prefect skin, like hydrafacials.

By using a device, the objective of hydrafacials are to cleanse and exfoliate the skin.

This is followed by using serums to hydrate the skin and help people to get the more natural non-makeup makeup look.

Au Natural Hair

Natural hair on its own is a billion dollar industry.

In South Africa, natural hair bloggers used to share their own concoctions to help their hair stay moisturised and strong.

But now more and more natural hair products are flooding the market. South African actress Pearl Thusi even has her own hair care range Black Pearl – and we all know how beautiful her hair is.

And the natural hair movement gained extra momentum when the 2019 Miss South Africa was crowned at a showstopping event – Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Ms SA and received so much praise as she rocked her natural hair on stage.

Bold, Colourful Hair

As much as natural hair is a trend, more and more celebrities have shown off their adventurous side by changing their hair colours.

Pink, lilac and even rainbow hair was all the rage, and musician Nadia Nakai never missed a beat when she showed off her colourful mane.

There’s even a few brave souls trying the grey hair trend.

Fenty Beauty

Since Rihanna launched her beauty line Fenty Beauty, her products have been selling like hot cakes.

The beauty line is appreciated and loved by millions of women around the world – especially as they’re launching products people didn’t know they needed. Like the Lava Body Luminizer – to be used from head to toe.

The obsession with the Lava Body Luminizer is real, and women can now achieve that red carpet all over glow, every day.

K-Beauty Pops

The Korean skincare routine took off in Mzansi in a big way.

This includes the rise in local beauty influencers talking about sheer masks, bubble masks, BB creams and essences.

But trying the K-Beauty routine takes true commitment. It can be up to 10 steps at a time, all based in your akin’s needs at the time.

Another beauty trend that’s taken the industry by storm is ultherapy - it’s an alternative to the traditional facelift, and doesn’t require surgery.

Using ultherapy addresses wrinkles on the face, each and chest, and it also addresses those niggly areas like sagging skin.

By using an ultrasound to perform the ultherapy, a person will get the more youthful appearance.

Bold eye? Bold lip?

Natural tones are a big trend, but there’s always that one party of the face that can pop.

Whether you’re using a bright, bold colour for your lips, or your eyes, it’s all about finding the perfect colour.

And for the adventurous at heart, doing a bold eye and a bold lip in one go, is a cherry on the cake.

Yay for Microblading

In the past, filling in eyebrows with an eye pencil was quite the norm, but thanks to technology things have become a lot more easier.

Microblading is one of the beauty industry’s most talked about methods to make sure you get that statement brow.

Although it is pricey when you start out, the sessions do become cheaper.

Microblading is almost like getting a tattoo of the brows, and it can last up to two years. And it looks natural, transforming the face.

Oh So Pretty Nails

Whether you prefer short nails or acrylic nails, there’ll always be a nail beauty trend to try.

It can be printing your favorite selfie on your nail art or the must-have seasonal nail design or maybe even abstract painting – it all depends on using the right colours.

Chrome nails is also a big beauty trend, which includes dusting a powder into the nail to get the right effect – and if done correctly, chrome nails loom fierce!

But of course, getting the perfect beauty look can’t be achieved by just using the right tools and make-up products – drinking enough water every day goes a very long way to keep you skin look young, fresh and hydrated.
