STANLEY TSHABALALA RECOVERING

Zimoja reports that former Bafana Bafana coach Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala has recovered from last month’s shooting incident.

A source from the family reveals that he came out of the ICU early this week and is now able to breathe properly and talk.

“He is still in pain, but the family is grateful for the progress. Although the family was worried about his recovery, they never lost hope. His family has been on his side ever since the incident,” says the insider.

The publication adds that Tshabalala spent over a month in ICU after he was shot by intruders at his Centurion, Tshwane home on 20 March.

Tshabalala’s family says they were not ready to give an update on his health yet and the family will give an update on his health when the time is right.

INSIDE HIS SHOOTING

The Citizen reports that Stanley Tshabalala was shot during a scuffle with a burglar in his Centurion home. Three armed men shot the Orlando Pirates technical director at his home.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo says three suspects armed with a firearm and a sharp object stormed into Tshabalala’s house and held him and his family at gunpoint.

“The soccer personality was shot by the suspects and later taken to the nearest medical care centre in a serious but stable condition.”

“The suspects then shot him and took laptops and cellphones from the house. Police have opened a case of house robbery and attempted murder for investigation,” says Masondo.

The family previously released a statement that said the former Bafana Bafana coach was recovering and the matter was being handled by the police.

“Former Bafana Bafana coach Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala was shot following a house break in at the Tshabalala residence yesterday, just after Midday,” read a statement from Pirates written by a family spokesperson Thato Matuka.

“The matter is currently in the hands of the South African Police Services. The Tshabalala family would like to thank the public for their messages of support during this time and have asked for privacy while Bra Stan is recovering.”
