Meanwhile, South Africans are wondering who Tito Mboweni has left behind.

According to IOL, Tito – from Tzaneen – does not have a wife, but does have three children.

One of them is Tumelo Mboweni, who, like his father, also studied at the University of Lesotho. Another is Amos, who works as a Real Estate Manager for Eskom.

In 2019, Sunday World reported slay queen Lerato Habiba Makgatho’s claims that she was in a “love triangle” with Tito Mboweni (then Minister of Finance) and Minister of Mineral Resources Gwede Mantashe.

According to the woman, she broke up with Tito because he could not satisfy her financially or sexually.

She told the publication: “He [Mantashe] gave me between R10k and R15k, and Mboweni will only give me R3k once in a long time”.

She added that Tito Mboweni was “not a freak in bed because he wanted us to switch off the lights and cover ourselves, but Mantashe was a tiger in bed. He even lasted long.”

However, in a follow-up, Lerato backtracked, praising Tito’s bedroom skills.

Following his death, Lerato shared in a Facebook post: “RIP Tito Mboweni. May we  find strength during these difficult times.”
