WATCH: The Forbes and Motsoane families know about the arrests says Cele

The South African Police Services including Minister of Police Bheki Cele on Tuesday, 27 February shared that the families of the late AKA and Tibz have already been informed the recent arrests made.

AKA FORBES AND TIBZ MOTSOANE’S FAMILIES KNOW ABOUT THE ARREST

Speaking Live during a press briefing, Minister Bheki Cele confirmed that six people in connection with the murders of the late AKA — real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane have been been arrested and detained.

He also assured South Africans that their families had been informed before the briefing about the breakthrough in the case.

The slain rapper AKA and his long-term friend Tibz were shot and killed on 10 February on Florida road, in Durban last year. With the recent arrests made, Cele said he hoped South Africans would now go to bed knowing that some of the culprits involved in the murder plot were finally arrested.

Answering whether the Forbes and Motsoane families know their latest developments in the murder case, Cele said: “I am implacably informed that the family has been informed.

MEN LINKED IN THE MURDER CASE TO APPEAR IN COURT

It was also confirmed that the people who were arrested will be appearing in court on Thursday, Bheki Cele said.

“I think the oldest of these guys is 36. That’s the oldest out of the whole group. It’s not a very old group of people,” Cele added.

Adding to the recent developments, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said all of the men that were arrested played different during the operation.

Mkhwanazi revealed that they had arrested the coordinator who also happens to be the mastermind of the whole operation and two shooters, adding that one of the spotters was inside the Wish restaurant observing AKA and his friends the entire time before they killed him.

Mkhwanazi also added that the team also included those men that supplied the getaway cars and the weapons that were used in the crime.
