Western Cape police say they have arrested 30 people and seized various drugs worth R4 million.

Western Cape police say they have captured 30 individuals and held onto different medications worth R4 million.

As per the police, the suspects were captured in different regions of the region in the early long periods of Saturday.

“Individuals connected to Public Order Policing responded on a hint that a vehicle was planned to make a medication conveyance in Elsies River and directed a vehicle checkpoint in the territory,” representative Colonel Andre Traut said.

He said that a Toyota Etios had been halted and looked, which brought about the capture of three male suspects – matured somewhere in the range of 32 and 41 – for having 35 160 mandrax tablets and 4.3kg of tik in their ownership.

In Kleinvlei, another suspect was captured for being in control of 30 mandrax tablets.

“In a random activity, individuals from the Provincial Integrated Team captured a 37-year-old female in Bontebok Street, Scottsdene, Kraaifontein the previous evening (Friday) at 22:45 for being in control of a restricted 9mm gun and ammo, just as 4.14g of tik and 66.38g of mandrax,” included Traut.

Afterward, a 52-year-elderly person from Eerste Avenue, Kraaifontein, was captured for the ownership of 84 mandrax tablets and R1 100 in real money, accepted to be the returns of wrongdoing.

A further 24 additional suspects were captured in Manenberg and Lingelethu West. All the suspects were between the ages 18 and 52, he said.

They are totally expected to show up at their regarded Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
