Award-winning actor Zolisa Xaluva says he’s aware that Smoke and Mirrors viewers want him back.

The former Gomora star Zolisa Xaluva got replaced by legendary actor Hlomla Dandala in the e.tv Smoke and Mirrors.

Xaluva tells TshisaLIVE: “I experience their desire every day, either in person or on social media. Every time I step out, I’m faced with a ‘why did you leave/when are you coming back?’”

He says it feels great to know how much impact he had on the show. He’s aware of the appreciation shown by the audience.

“I’m asked to come back every day. My departure from the show was a business/contractual one; it was never personal. I’m a businessman, if business is done right, I’m keen to play.”

The actor also reveals that he has a love and appreciation for that audience.

The former Smoke and Mirrors star Zolisa Xaluva also rubbishes reports that he’s joining Isitha: The Enemy.

“The Isitha conversation is a rumour. I have not been in talks with the producers of the show and I know them personally. It’s just a rumour.”

He adds that he’s moving between Cape Town and Johannesburg to shoot Mzansi Magic’s Code 13. The actor currently plays Detective Bheki Ndlovu in Code 13.

Xaluva adds that he’s also busy filming the third season of Kings of Joburg.

“I’m also joining a Netflix series that had a successful first season. I’m coming in to assist them in the second instalment.”

E.tv welcomes actor Hlomla Dandala, who replaced Zolisa Xaluva for the recast role of Caesar Ngonyama in season two of Smoke and Mirrors.

Dandala made an appearance from the 16 April at 9pm at Caesar and Thandiswa’s (Ayanda Bandla) wedding day.

Dandala tells IOL that this is an exciting challenge for him as the character of Caesar is loved by viewers. His aim is to please and ensure that he delivers as a performer.

“Playing a villainous character such as Caesar will surely bring the best out of me. But more than anything I’m excited to be back with the eFamily and I look forward to a real joyride as we enter the second season of the show.”

Xaluva is the second actor to leave the e.tv telenovela in the second season after Kabomo Vilakazi, who played Mthetho.
