Thanks to his huge social media following, he often trends whenever he posts. The celebrated youngster took to Instagram stories to share photos of a house that is under construction.

Popular football blog Mzansi Football shared the photos as they confirmed the news.

Against the now-deleted post, fans were more than convinced that the Mamelodi Sundowns star was building a house.

Despite the rumoured house making all sorts of headlines, the star has yet to address the reports.

However, judging from the pictures, the house is now taking shape despite the builders not having started working on the walls to reach the window level.

Fans were quick to flood social media feeds with their two cents. Over the years, footballers have splurged thousands, if not millions, on their lives of glitz and glamour.

Some have invested big in houses thanks to their big contracts, signing on fees and performance-based bonuses.

The Mamelodi Sundowns star joins a host of South African footballers who are building.

A few months ago, Orlando Pirates shot-stopper Melusi Buthelezi topped trends when it was revealed that he was building in his rural home.

However, the star did not openly confirm the news like those before him.

Against the news, he seemingly shared photos showing a sneak peek of a house under construction. The house, which was now on the roof level, boasts modern designs and several rooms.

CAREER

Siyabonga Mabena has since been lauded as one of the best promising stars in South Africa.

Like many other young talents of his time, Siyabonga Mabena is a product of the Transnet School of Excellence.

He was born on 18 February 2000. Siyabonga Mabena’s youth career is little known, except for his stint with Transnet School of Excellence.

He shot to fame when he joined PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns in 2022. Surprisingly, both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates were interested in signing him.

However, he later joined Mamelodi Sundowns with Relebohile Mofokeng, settling for Orlando Pirates.

After a season, he was promoted to the senior team, having made his debut during a 5-1 win against Royal AM in 2023 during a PSL clash.

A few weeks ago, Siyabonga Mabena was named among the best 60 young players in world football on the Mail & Guardian’s Next Generation 2024.
