Mzansi, please help find missing nurse
POLICE in Cape Town are searching for a 30-year-old nurse who disappeared after she went to visit a man in Samora Machel on Saturday, 31 May.
Londiwe Pretty Mnyandu, who works in Bellville, left her place of employment with a colleague but has not been seen since.
On Sunday, 8 June, cops released a statement asking members of the public for help to find the missing woman.
According to police spokesman Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, Mnyandu was last seen wearing her nurse’s uniform.
“Information reveals that Londiwe left her place of employment on Saturday with a colleague on her way to Samora Machel to visit a male known to her. She has since not yet returned to her place of employment in Bellville. At the time of her disappearance, she was seen wearing a nurse’s uniform,” said Swartbooi.
Police are appealing to the public to assist with any information that could help trace Mnyandu’s whereabouts. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Busiswa Ngxafane on 079 057 6493 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. All information will be treated confidentially.
Meanwhile, a separate case involving a missing woman from Bellville ended in tragedy. Chantal Pelser (52) was found dead in a Cape Town guesthouse on Wednesday, 28 May.
She had last been seen driving her silver Hyundai i10 through the Bo-Kaap area on Sunday, 25 May, at around 1 pm, heading toward Kloof Nek Road.
Her disappearance had prompted a widespread social media appeal from family and friends. Sadly, hopes were dashed when her body was discovered days later in a guesthouse room, ending the search on a heartbreaking note.
Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
