Divorce Drama: Rachel Kolisi Breaks Down in Tears

RACHEL Kolisi has opened up about the emotional weight of solo parenting as she navigates her divorce from Springbok rugby captain Siya Kolisi.

The couple, who had been married for nine years, announced their separation in October 2024 after more than a decade together.

Their breakup made headlines across the country, with many South Africans expressing shock and sadness.

The pair met in 2012 and tied the knot in 2016, becoming one of Mzansi’s most admired couples.

Over the years, they built a home together, raised their two kids, and also cared for Siya’s younger siblings.

When they shared news of the split, they made it clear that the decision was mutual and respectful, and that their focus would remain on raising their family together.

In a recent TikTok post in July, Rachel shared a raw moment from her journey.

She also used the powerful track Elastic Heart by international star Sia in the background, which includes the lyric: “Let’s be clear, trust no one. You did not break me, I’m still fighting for peace.”

The video sparked mixed reactions. While many offered support, media personality Minnie Dlamini said: “Sorry Mama.”

Other users were more critical.

“Fix your marriage. You are choosing the spotlight because you love the attention,” said Stan.

But not everyone agreed with that view. Another user, Sharn, responded: “Watching this video I did not think of Siya. I felt for a woman going through something very difficult… divorce is up there as one of the top 3 things that causes stress.”

Despite the noise, Rachel’s message landed clearly – she’s not just surviving the end of her marriage but also learning how to move forward with strength, honesty, and grace.

@rachelkolisiTomorrow I’ll go again 💪🏼❤️♬ Elastic Heart (yeah, let’s be clear, I’ll trust no one. You did not break me, I’m still fighting for peace) – Sia
