South Africans have flooded social media, calling for her arrest and warning young women not to fall for the scheme.

Cyan Boujee’s Controversial Promotional Video

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Cyan Boujee encouraged young African women to sign up for a Russian program that promised career opportunities, free flights, free housing, promotions, and salary increases every six months.

The program, however, has raised serious red flags, with critics cautioning that it could be an elaborate human trafficking operation.

Alarming Reports on Russian Recruitment

Reports suggest Russian companies have been actively recruiting young African women to fill labour shortages. One of the main recruiters, the Alabuga factory in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, has been linked to the production of Shahed drones used in the war against Ukraine.

These revelations have heightened fears that such programs could be exploitative and dangerous.

Crimewatch RSA Issues Warning

Crimewatch_RSA has confirmed that the program is under investigation. In a statement, the organisation cautioned:

[BEWARE OF ILLEGITIMATE AND/OR UNVERIFIED OPPORTUNITIES TARGETING YOUNG WOMEN]. The video clip circulated by a social media influencer, which purports to promote a 2-year long ‘START PROGRAM’ targeting young women in acquiring professional skills and commencing their careers, is currently under investigation.

Public Backlash

Social media erupted with anger as many slammed the influencer for promoting a ‘Human Trafficking Network’. Some accused her of being a “horrible human being” who would do anything for money, even if it put women’s lives in danger.

Others warned that taking job advice from influencers was reckless and could expose vulnerable young women to exploitation.

Amid mounting outrage, South Africans are demanding that Cyan Boujee and other influencers promoting the controversial program be arrested as soon as possible.
