Family of Bassline King DJ Poizen Speaks After His Tragic Passing

THE family of DJ Poizen has finally spoken out following his death.

The DJ, whose real name was Caven Masetla-Moshoane, died in a car crash on Saturday, 30 August aged 35.

DJ Poizen is known for his popular DJ mixes on YouTube and songs such as Give Me the Night.

He had dropped a collaborative album with Chymamusique titled Musique Collaborated on 21 August.

DJ Poizen was with Chymamusique when he was involved in the car crash, as they were returning from a gig to push their new album.

After days of silence, his family released a statement remembering him as more than just a talented artist.

 

 

“It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caven Masetla-Moshoane, widely known as DJ Poizen, who tragically lost his life in a car crash on Saturday, August 30.

“DJ Poizen was more than just a talented artist; he was a loving father, a devoted partner, and the undisputed King of Bassline. His infectious laugh and warm smile touched the hearts of everyone he met,” read the statement.

The family said it was heartbroken by the DJ’s passing.

“We are deeply hurt by this sudden loss, and the family kindly requests privacy as we mourn our beloved DJ Poizen,” they said.

Details about his funeral and memorial service will be announced soon.

“Details about his memorial service, which will be held in Joburg to allow family, fans, and followers to pay their respects, will be shared later this week.

“Rest in peace, DJ Poizen. Your legacy will live on through the music and joy you brought to so many,” they wrote.
