Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa Joins BET Africa’s New Telenovela ‘Black Gold’
Fashion designer and actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa is adding another exciting chapter to her career. The former Rockville star recently confirmed her role on Black Brain Pictures’ telenovela Black Gold, where she will star alongside fan-favourite actors Warren Masemola and Zamani Mbatha.
The award-winning actress shared the news on her Instagram account on Friday, 17 October 2025, announcing her arrival on the BET Africa TV show. “I would like to introduce you to Azania Lwandle. The announcement quickly drew reactions from fellow entertainers. TV host and Black Gold actress Nomalanga Shozi expressed her excitement, saying, “She’s here to shake the room! .” Singer and radio personality Nandi Madida also chimed in, praising Enhle’s long-standing talent: “You’ve been a flame and a talent since the Tshisha days. ” Meanwhile, Nkanyisobhengu shared their admiration for working alongside her: “I am so honoured to work with you on the same production. Black Gold premiered on BET Africa on 18 August and airs Monday to Thursday at 18:30 on DStv Channel 129. The drama centers on the character Amandla Zungu, portrayed by Nomalanga Shozi , a strong and determined young woman whose life is upended after being wrongly blamed for her father’s death. Betrayed by her stepmother Florence, Amandla is forced out of her family home and must navigate the perilous world of illegal mining.
Legendary actress Dawn Thandeka King plays the devious Florence, who conspires with her lover Tom Motsepe, brought to life by Sello Maake KaNcube, to orchestrate Amandla’s downfall. With its gripping storyline and powerhouse cast, Black Gold promises intense drama, emotional twists, and standout performances, making it one of the most anticipated telenovelas on BET Africa this year.
Enhle’s entry into the series is expected to bring even more excitement, as viewers look forward to seeing her embody the role of Azania Lwandle, the best security personnel in the business, and witness the chemistry she shares with the rest of the cast.
