Actor Melusi Mbele exits Scandal

Talented actor Melusi Mbele, who portrays the role of Jojo Kubeka has exited Scandal!. Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela confirms Meluso Mbele’s departure from the e.tv soapie, Scandal! as Jojo.

Mphela adds that Jojo’s story will wrap up on Monday, June 17, 2024. Mbele won a Safta (South African Film and Television Award) for his role as Jojo in 2023. IOL confirms Mbele won Best Actor in a TV Soap for the popular character.

Melusi Mbele is also well known for his role as Zolani on the eTV soap opera Rhythm City. Muvhango on SABC2 as Vuyo and Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya as Bekumuzi are two other TV shows in which he has appeared.Fans appreciated his acting skills after the news of him leaving Scandal was announced.

Melusi is a South African-born actor and businessman. He attended Mount View Secondary School then studied Broadcasting Production at Icesa City Campus in Durban. After graduating from Icesa, the problem of not finding a job faced him, so he ventured into construction. He did small jobs on sites, roads, and bridges in preparation for the 2010 World cup. He later worked at a call center. In 2015 he engaged his girlfriend, Andiswa Maqungo. He has one child.

The actor is the second star to exit the e.tv soapie this season after Mathews Rantsoma who plays the role of Nhlamulo.The soapie revealed that Rantsoma resigned from the popular show and will exit the show on 24 July.

“Matthews approached us to advise us that he would like to pursue other ventures. The production and the channel support his decision and have agreed to release him. He will exit the story at the end of July. We wish success in his future,” reads the statement.

Rantsoma joined the popular soap opera in 2021 as Lindiwe’s (Nomvelo Makhanya) lover and Vuvu’s (Mamarumo Marokane) baby daddy.
