Actor Nyaniso Dzedze on Skeem Saam’s role

Former Generations star Nyaniso Dzedze will make his debut on Skeem Saam next month, along with Pholoso Mohlala, Themba Manganyi, and Brendan Maphake.

Nyaniso (37), noted for his performances in Durban Gen, Unmarried, and The Estate, spoke with the Daily Sun about joining educational drama series as Lehasa’s (Cedric Fourie) pal.

The Johannesburg-based actor has assured that viewers would witness a different Lehasa, one other than the cutthroat businessman he is now.

“I will play Nkosi, a headstrong man who is his own boss, and he’s a supportive and loyal friend, and that’s how he fits into Lehasa’s life. If anything, Nkosi is probably Lehasa’s moral compass because he comes from a background of having been a cop.

“He turned and started his own business, and he likes to do things the right way and keep to the law. So, in the presence of Nkosi, Lehasa is less ruthless and less likely to break the law. He kind of invites Lehasa to have more integrity and less ruthlessness,” he said.

The talented actor known for killing every role he portrayed said he’s excited for people to meet his character on Skeem Saam.

“Nkosi makes his debut on 12 February. He will bring some action into a world where his presence effectively makes people change for the better. I’m excited physically, emotionally and very happy because he challenges Lehasa in a way that other people in his life haven’t,” he said.
