Actor Siyabonga Shibe Embroiled in Kidnapping scandals

Renowned actor Siyabonga Shibe, best known for his roles in television dramas like “Yizo Yizo” and “The Wife,” finds himself at the center of a kidnapping scandal, with shocking allegations surfacing against him. According to reports from ZiMoja, Shibe stands accused of kidnapping, assault, and theft following an incident involving his former wife’s cousin in Thabong, Free State.

The victim, 19-year-old Karabo Patrick Letsoalo, detailed the harrowing ordeal to ZiMoja, recounting how Shibe allegedly arrived at his home demanding to see his 10-year-old child. Letsoalo claims that when he insisted he didn’t know the child’s whereabouts, Shibe, accompanied by his elder daughter Nomthandazo Ngcobo, coerced him into a car and proceeded to interrogate and assault him.

Letsoalo alleges that during the ordeal, Shibe slapped him multiple times, and Nomthandazo brandished a firearm, escalating the situation further. Ultimately, Letsoalo managed to escape and seek refuge at a friend’s house, albeit losing his phone in the process.

Nomthandazo, when contacted by ZiMoja, refuted the allegations, asserting that they had visited Letsoalo’s ex-wife’s place peacefully to deliver Christmas and birthday gifts for the child. She denied the use of a firearm and claimed that Letsoalo’s account was fabricated.

Free State police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng confirmed that a case of theft of a cellphone was registered, but made no mention of the kidnapping allegations. The investigation into the matter has reportedly been completed, with the docket handed to the prosecutor for further action.

Efforts to reach Siyabonga Shibe for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
