Over the years, several actresses have accused Ferguson Films of exploitation, abuse and mistreatment of the cast. No doubt, these daring allegations have often thrust Connie Ferguson into the top trends. Some of the actors include Vatiswa Ndara and Keke Mphuthi.

VATISWA NDARA AND KEKE MPHUTHI’S CLAIMS

In 2019, seasoned actress Vatiswa Ndara pulled a shocker when she penned an open letter to the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa. The actress revealed that actors were being abused and unfairly treated by production houses in South Africa.

Ndara particularly mentioned Ferguson Films for exploiting actors while they bag millions. The claims came in the backdrop of her fallout with the production company.

Against the claims, the production company responded with a detailed press statement. Reacting to Vatiswa Ndara’s claims, Keke Mphuthi recounted her experience with the production company. Mphuthi starred in two Ferguson Films productions, The Throne and Unmarried.

In a series of tweets, Keke Mphuthi claimed that she lost her job after she revealed that she was pregnant. The production company went on to write off her character despite assuring her that she wouldn’t lose her job.

She claimed that she was notified that her contract had come to an end during her last week of shooting. However, apart from the actresses, The Queen crew member Katlego Malele once opened up about sexual harassment on the set of the show.

Against these daring allegations, Ferguson Films set the record straight with a press statement. The production company said, “The allegations towards Ferguson Films are misguided, misdirected and misleading and can be seen as a ploy to defame and tarnish our name and reputation.”
