Bernard Parker’s age revealed on his birthday ‘Black don’t crack’

Older than some fans thought – Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker’s age shocked fans as revealed on his birthday.

Former Bafana Bafana veteran and birthdady boy, Bernard Parker’s age was revealed on 16 March.

Bernard had been among the finest Bafana midfielders of the past few years. He is one of the most capped players with over 50 appearances and scored over 20 goals.


With him still playing football at the top level, some fans thought he was a little younger with how he looked after himself. Indeed, most of his fans did not know much about his actual age: one of the oldest players in the country’s top division.

Celebrating his birthday, Bernard Parker left some legendary players he played with, like Benni McCarthy, wishing him well. Benni penned a heartfelt tribute that showed how much he loved and respected Parker.

“Happy Birthday, die Hond 🥳🎉🎊 here’s to many more blessings to you and your family. Much love and respect 🫡 broertjie ❤️,” Benni said.


According to Wikipedia, he talented midfielder was born on 16 March 1986 and had been celebrating his 38th birthday. Bernard was born in Boksburg, South Africa, where he started playing his favourite sport at a younger age.

He started playing his junior football at Mamelodi Sundowns until he graduated into professional football and signed for Thanda Royal Zulu. After impressing there, he went on to play for some of the biggest teams in the country, such as the Kaizer Chiefs and the TS Galaxy.

Parker penned a lengthy message celebrating his birthday, thanking God for giving him life.

“Almighty God, I thank you for this special day. May you fill my life with joy and peace. Lord, I thank you for the blessings you have given me. On this day, I ask for your divine protection and guidance. 🎂” he said.

Showing his class and talent, legendary coach Pitso Mosimane spoke about how Bernard Parker managed to play at an older age. He cited his commitment and hard work, saying he lives as an example for the coming generation.

“You went through a lot; you showed it that it was not given to you on a silver platter”, Pitso said, handing Parker his book.

In response, Parker showed humility by getting praise from a legend like Pitso. “Heartwarming words from my mentor, our coach @therealpitsomosimane 🙏🏽❤️⚽️” he replied.
