Big Brother Mzansi reality TV star Liema opens up about her decision to take the R250 000 and departure from the show.


The popular Big Brother Mzansi reality TV star, Liema got evicted on Monday, 18 March after taking the R250 000 cheque.


She admits in an interview with IOL that she wanted to go back in the house and was nervous.

“I wanted to go back to the house. But since I didn’t hear the rules and I was really nervous while everything was happening, I took the money”.

“At first, I was really doubtful about whether it was a good decision but then again, I realised it was a good decision. Nothing is guaranteed. I wanted to be in the top five but God had His plans for me, which I think were very good for me.”

The fan-favourite reality TV star got evicted after choosing R250,000 in the Fate Room, a decision she made in sixty seconds.

She was given two choices, either to stay in the game and compete for R2 million or take R250 000 and leave the house immediately.

Her exit comes after Willy, Young Papi, Lerato, Jareed, Els, Chueenza, Meelay, Mich, Taki, Pale, Fahima, Sammy_M, Mali, Neo’s evictions.

There are currently only six housemates left in the reality TV show after Yolanda and Bravo B’s disqualifications.

MultiChoice eliminated Yolanda from the show on Friday, 15 March, while Bravo B left in the show’s opening week.


Liema reveals that she plans to fund her music career with the money after exiting the Big Brother Mzansi TV show.

The 22-year-old adds that she will also invest in her craft and open a skincare business with the money she received.

Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant and podcaster, Sol Phenduka applauded Liema for choosing the money.

Phenduka said on X: “So Liema was offered 250k in the big brother house only if she exits the game. She took the money! Well, done! Smart move! Do y’all know the story of Thando in our Big Brother season?”

“She thought she had a chance of winning the season and passed up a chance to take money and exit.”

“She left empty handed. And got voted out in the following weeks. Always take the money. That’s a win. A free R250K. Aowa guys (no guys).”
