A few days ago, the muso took to Instagram to reveal that he owns all the music recorded in his studio. Over the years, his studio has fast become one of the biggest studios in South Africa.

DJ Maphorisa’s studio has undoubtedly thrust several stars into the limelight in recent years. However, despite his success as a producer, he has been dragged for gatekeeping the industry over the years.

DJ Prince Kaybee was one of the celebrities who voiced their concerns against his music rights approach.

In response to DJ Maphorisa’s sentiments, Prince Kaybee said, “Growing up I’ve changed my beliefs. I now believe in working together on creative projects is about the IP sharing. So, someone must write a song, produce a beat and craft it, and you own everything cause you bought Nando’s and lights?”

However, DJ Maphorisa quickly clipped his wings with a daring response that thrust the two into the top trends. DJ Maphorisa implicated Prince Kaybee’s private life woes in the mix.

He implicated his intimate videos in their argument and even likened the muso to an adult content actor. Fans were not pleased with the DJ’s response. However, some were more than convinced that Prince Kaybee deserved the response because he likes attention.

MAKING HEADLINES

Over the years, Prince Kaybee has often hogged headlines with his dramatic love life. In 2023, he was accused of leaking Cyan Boujee’s intimate video.

The influencer went on to reveal that it was Kaybee who recorded the video. Cyan Boujee revealed that the two dated when she was only 19. Kaybee, however, rubbished the claims and threatened to sue her, but nothing materialised.
