DR Malinga suffers loss.

The award-winning musician and performer is picking up the pieces after a shocking betrayal by people he once called friends.

Dr Malinga, whose real name is Goodwill Malinga, took to social media to express his frustration and share his heartbreak after discovering that his recording studio equipment was and later recovered from people he trusted.

The 44-year-old shared that the equipment was taken from his property on Friday, 16 May and was recovered the following day.

To make matters worse, the culprits were close to his inner circle.

“Recovered my studio from this guys I thought they were friends with my producers & I let everyone record for free mxm don’t trust anyone guys, that’s why my dogs didn’t bite coz they know them,” wrote Malinga on social media.

Fans were quick to show support online, praising him for his transparency and resilience. Many also shared messages of encouragement, urging him to stay strong and keep pushing.

Dr Malinga also opened up to Daily Sun about the emotional toll of the robbery.

“They are friends with my producer. They broke the windows, put them down and entered the studio. They know what is in there, that is why they broke into the studio.”

Asked if he opened a case with the police, he said he didn’t as he wanted to investigate the matter himself.

Dr Malinga, known for hits like Via Orlando and Akulaleki has become one of Mzansi’s most beloved entertainers thanks to his energetic dance moves and trademark kicks.

He is also a businessman, running his own independent label Lingas Entertainment and has ventured into events and promotions.
