Dineo Nchalabeng got various acting roles after leaving the beloved South African serial Generations, where she was most recognized for her role as Tau Mogale’s daughter, Angela Motene. What happened to her?
According to Mail & Guardian, Generations’ producers fired 16 members of their cast after a strike broke out demanding an increase in salaries. The show was off-air for two months before it was rebirthed as Generations – The Legacy.
The new show included only a few of the original cast members which only included Connie Ferguson who plays Karabo Moroka, Rapulana Seiphemo who plays Tau Mogale, Angela Motene’s father and Ronnie Nyakale, who plays Cosmo. The rest of the cast includes a bunch of new faces, one of which is Lebogang Mthunzi who replaced Dineo Nchabeleng’s role as Angela.

Since leaving the soapie, Dineo Nchabeleng has bagged several jobs in front of the camera. According to various posts on her Instagram, she continues to make strides in the film as well as the media industry. Her most recent acting gig is on Whatever It Takes. According to eTV, the show premiered in 2022 and is about a mother who will stop at nothing to save her son.
Nchabeleng appeared on Afternoon Express in 2019 and claimed that she made her first television appearance when she was seven years old, when she did her first commercial. She also said that she spent a year studying acting at the National School of the Arts.
She has worked on a variety of projects, including presenting on YoTV’s Blue Couch and appearing in Soul City, Ring of Lies, and End Game. Nchabeleng has also appeared in films like as My Brother The Egg, Sofa Silahlane, Beat The Drum, and Christmas In Jozi.
