Thuli Thabethe, a famous South African actress, was born Nokuthula Thabethe on April 5, 1985. She became well-known among fans of television because of her role as Phumzile on City Ses’la.

From 2006 to 2009, she acted in the three-year-long SABC1 sitcom. She won the 2009 SAFTA Golden Horn Award for Best Actress in a Comedy for her performance in the movie.

She is one of the Mzansi actresses leading the way in the entertainment sector. Thuli has been cast in a number of regional television programs.


Thuli is also known for appearing on several shows and series including Isibaya and is one of the oldest actresses.

For three years, she played the role of Phumzile on City Ses’la. She landed the role following the exit of Lurayi, who joined the Wild at Heart cast. She landed the starring role of Young Nomsa in iNkaba, a Mzansi Magic telenovela (2012–2013).

She has also appeared in several television shows, playing cameo roles. In 2005, she was cast as bitchy Maria on the popular series Isindigo. Thul was also cast as Detective Maseko in Mtunzini.com and Young Reporter on Hard Copy in the same year.

She portrayed the Doctor on Tshisa in 2006. Pink Khumba was cast when Terry Pheto was replaced in Zone 14. In 2010, she made an appearance in the third season of the SABC1 drama.

She was the host of the Mzansi Wethu reality series Our Perfect Wedding. She left the show after one season in order to concentrate on her academic goals. Where Thuli left off, Brenda Ngxoli took on. 2014 saw her get a guest-starring part in the Mzansi Magic comedy Kota Life Crisis. She portrayed Mercia Sithole, the main character, in the Mzansi Magic series The Mayor in 2015.
