Siya and his wife Rachel founded the The Kolisi foundation in March 2020. The vision is to change the stories of inequality in South Africa, to see thriving communities.

“Siya and Rachel Kolisi founded the Kolisi Foundation with a vision to change the stories of inequality in South Africa, to see thriving communities. We work alongside others, adding our story to the stories of communities and individuals who are changing the world. By ‘remembering the one, one by one,’ we will impact the nation,” read a statement on the foundation’s website.

The family of four relocated from Durban, South Africa to Paris, France in 2023 ahead of Siya joining Paris-based rugby club Racing 92. Rachel and the kids moved in August 2023. While Siya joined his family after he led the Springboks to become double Rugby World Cup champions in October 2023.

“Rachel and the kids have sacrificed so much throughout my career, and I am immeasurably grateful for this. The move to Racing 92 will enable me to spend more time with my family, which is something that I have longed for, and this prospect certainly played a significant part in my decision-making,” the Springboks captain said in a statement.
