‘Justice for Gossip Girl’: Musa Khawula fans start BackaBuddy campaign
Fans of notorious celebrity blogger Musa Khawula have started a BackaBuddy campaign to raise funds for his mounting legal fees.
A BackaBuddy campaign has been launched to help infamous celebrity blogger Musa Khawula pay his legal fees.
The YouTuber – who runs a popular X account – is known for his tweets defaming high-profile people.
Musa is currently in police custody over two separate criminal charges.
MUSA KHAWULA BEHIND BARS: WHAT DID HE DO?
This week, Musa Khawula made two separate court appearances at the Randburg Magistrates Court and the Focheville Magistrates Court on charges of crimen injuria, contempt of court, and attempted murder, respectively.
Musa also has a pending case of murder stemming from the 2022 death of a man he allegedly romantically pursued.
In 2021, Musa -known for his defamatory claims against politicians and celebs – was accused of knocking over a man and driving off. According to Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana, Musa is facing charges of attempted murder, reckless driving, and failing to render assistance or report the accident”.

Earlier in the week, Musa Khawula appeared in court on charges of crimen injuria, contempt of court, and contravening the Cybercrimes Act. This stems from his failure to remove defamatory X posts last year about former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green and her businessman husband, Ze Nxumalo.

Musa is also set to face the long arm of the law on allegations he stabbed Wandile Khambule to death after he allegedly rejected his romantic advances. However, he refuted the claims, stating that he had acted in self-defence.
Musa remains in custody amid the charges.
BACKABUDDY CAMPAIGN AIMS TO RAISE FUNDS
Meanwhile, fans have kickstarted a BackaBuddy campaign to raise funds for Musa Khawula’s legal fees.
The crowdfunding initiative has a target of R50 000. It has currently raised less than R2000.
