The national team’s captain, managed a whopping four saves during last week’s African Cup of Nations(AFCON) match against Cape Verde. He has shot to the top of social media trends as locals discuss his talent. Social media users have shared thousands of praise posts about Ronwen who was recently congratulated by local football legend, Itumeleng “Itu” Khune.

It’s a great time for South African sports teams who are doing wonders on the field.

On Saturday 3 February, Bafana Bafana beat Cape Verde 2-0 to move onto the AFCON semifinals.

The win has left soccer fans positively beaming as they discuss the country’s talent.

Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper — Ronwen Williams — has made the country particularly proud. This after he managed to make four saves during the Cape Verde match.

One of the people who have headed online to celebrate him is Kaizer Chiefs star Itumeleng Khune. Taking to Instagram, Khune wrote how Ronwen is “the best in the country”.
