“Lebo M Opens Up on Split with Mel Ntsala: Choosing Peace and Dignity Over Love”

Grammy Award-winning musician and producer Lebo Morake, famously known as Lebo M, has ended his relationship with Mel Ntsala just three months after rekindling their romance, and this time he is opening up about why things didn’t work out.

The couple, who have been in an on-and-off relationship for years, made headlines in June 2025 after revealing they were back together and engaged again. Their reunion came shortly after a luxurious Dubai trip, where Lebo M proposed to Mel on a R2 million yacht. Pictures of the extravagant proposal quickly went viral, with fans celebrating their love story.

At the time, the Lion King composer shared heartfelt words alongside glamorous photos of the proposal, writing: “The day we stop believing in love and possibilities is when we stop dreaming. Very grateful to find my dream come true and begin this new chapter.” The post has since been deleted.

According to DRUM, but just months later, the celebrated producer confirmed that the relationship had once again come to an end. In a statement addressing the breakup, Lebo M explained the reasons behind his decision. “I believed in giving love a chance, but after ongoing financial discrepancies and unexplained late-night absences, I had to put my peace of mind and dignity first,” he said.

This breakup marks the fourth time the couple has called it quits. They were previously engaged in 2019 but split in 2020 amid infidelity rumours. Despite several reconciliations, their relationship has continued to be rocked by challenges.

Fans had hoped their Dubai engagement would be the new beginning they needed, but Lebo M has made it clear that protecting his well-being had to come before trying again.
