Ronwen Williams’ social media followers were thoroughly impressed to see that the soccer star took his son to watch a sports game. He reportedly shared that fatherhood gave him a huge responsibility that forced him to re-evaluate his focus.

“You can imagine, I started playing professionally while I was still a teenager, so all the money and popularity can go to your head. But thankfully I had a son and it changed my life,” Williams was quoted as saying.

The Bafana Bafana captain recently won the Golden Glove award at the end of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast in February, TshisaLIVE reported.

He also made history by becoming the first goalkeeper to save four out of five penalties in a major international tournament, Lusaka Times reported,

Meanwhile, the Bafana Bafana team took the third spot as the bronze medallists of the tournament. They also reportedly walked away with the Fair Play Award, the publication reported.

The Gqeberha-born Bafana Bafana star previously admitted that his father always knew that he was destined for greatness on the pitch, The Citizen reported.

“Funny enough, when my mother was pregnant with me, she was still playing football. I think she said up until she was about six months… My father said that he knew I was going to be a soccer player because I was kicking a ball before I was even born,” Williams was quoted as saying in an interview on Mamelodi Sundowns’ pitchside podcast.
