Nelisiwe Sibiya, an actress and singer, has responded to critics who have been doubting her virginity.The actress told the Daily Sun that the question is extremely personal and out of place.
Speaking to the publication, she said: “That is for me and my family to know.” “As far as I’m concerned, it’s an inappropriate question,” she continued.
The 31-year-old actress said that the question is sparked by how she dresses. “This is because of the way I dress in my traditional attire and the way I portray myself as a proud Zulu girl on social media. I don’t know how to say this. But don’t mind people complimenting my beauty when I’m dressed traditionally.I wear my clothes exactly the way I want to, but I don’t think it’s anyone’s right to know whether I’m still a virgin or not,” she said.
There are also people who accuse her of dating men from the industry.“There are evil people out there who think that they are entitled to bash celebrities. I’ve been accused of dating celebrity guys. But I’m lucky because my family understands,” she said.
Although the actress does not discuss much of her personal life, news of Nelisiwe Sibiya’s engagement with a certain gospel musician, Ayanda Ntanzi, could not be hidden from the public. But unfortunately, their relationship ended sometime in 2019.
According to her, the difference in their belief and value system deterred the success of their relationship. While she is more into upholding the Zulu traditional culture, her ex-boyfriend was a Christian who believed he would never allow her to take up certain movie roles.
