No frills, just plain old’: Pizzo Mosimane praises tactician Ugo Bruce

Pitso Mosimane praised Hugo Broos, saying Bafana Bafana is the most tactical team at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane saluted Hugo Broos’s tactics at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon). Hugo Broos has been exciting fans with his tactics so far in the tournament. Pitso found it worthy to appreciate Hugo after the Morocco win on 30 January.

It was a tough contest decided by two second-half goals from Teboho Mokoena and Evidence Makgopa.

When Afcon started, few fans believed in the team; they thought they would not go past the group stages. Surprisingly, Hugo had been getting the best out of his squad, and they were in the quarter-finals. After watching the game, one of the country’s best coaches, Pitso, saw something special in the group.

He praised midfielder Teboho Mokoena, saying he bossed the midfield. Mosimane went on to show belief that Bafana may win the tournament if they stay grounded, taking one step at a time.

“One step at a time, we still have a road to travel, feet on the ground but we can celebrate these hard-earned victories,” Pitso said.

WHAT PITSO MOSIMANE SAID ABOUT HUGO BROOS’ SIDE

After praising Teboho, Mosimane went on to show respect to the coaches for the work they did with the team. He said they put in a lot of hard work to be the most tactical team of the Afcon so far. “Credit to Hugo Broos and Helman Mkhalele. Their team works very hard and tactically disciplined,” he said.

His position about Bafana Bafana’s tactics was so evident that he believed there was no argument. “No arguments; SA is one of the most tactically disciplined teams in the tournament. No frills, just grinding,” he said.

BAFANA’S ROAD TO THE FINAL

As Pitso Mosimane praised Hugo Broos, his optimism about taking step by step to the final made sense. Bafana fans are optimistic, with most big teams like Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, and Algeria out of the tournament.

They would be facing Cape Verde in the quarter-finals to book their place in the semi-finals. If they win against Cape Verde, they will face either Angola or Nigeria.
