One of the suspects implicated in the high profiled murder case of AKA has allegedly submitted a one hundred page affidavit denying his involvement in the assassination.

The five accused made their court appearance on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, separate charges of murder for AKA and Tebello Motsoane, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and five counts of attempted murder.

According to local Durban-based newspaper The Witness, two of the accused, 21-year-old Siyanda Myeza and 30-year-old Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi applied for bail with one of them, taxi boss Lindokuhle submitting a 100-page Affidavit denying that he had any involvement in the hit.

According to the above-mentioned source the affidavit was read by Lindokhule’s lawyer, who added that his client has no intentions of pleading guilty.

As motivation to receive bail, “Lindo” revealed that he has a wife who is expecting, and needed to support her during the pregnancy.

He explained that he is one of the bread winners of his family and recently opened a loan so that he could build his family a house on his parents’ homestead, this cost him R200 000.

In addition, he believes that being released will help him pay off the loan as well as raise fund to cover his legal expenses.

While the accused was previously arrested for the murder of William Kunene earlier this year, he says he knew nothing about the AKA saga.

“I was confused that instead of being questioned about Kunene, the police were asking me questions about the AKA murder, which I knew nothing about,” he said in the affidavit.

With the court proceedings said to resume on Monday, Kiernan Forbes’s dad Tony says that Lindo gained no sympathy from him.
