‘WELL PLAYED’: NANDO’S ON BAFANA BAFANA SEMI-FINAL KNOCKOUT
South Africa reached the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in 24 years, the website Goal.com reported. This comes after defeating Cape Verde with penalties. However, recently, Nigeria beat South Africa 4-2 on penalties. The Super Eagles are now set to face Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday.
Taking to Instagram, Nando’s South Africa shared a heart-warming post, congratulating Bafana Bafana for making it as far as they did in the tournament.
“Lifting our spirits doesn’t require lifting trophies,” the post read. “Well played, Bafana!” Nando’s captioned the post.
Speaking after the match yesterday, Bafana Bafana manager Hugo Broos said he is proud of his team despite having lost the game, iDiski Times reported.
“Football can be hard. When you see the performance of my team today and then there is penalties and you lose the game, you’re not in the final, it’s hard to accept that, because we played a very good game,” Broos was quoted as saying.
