Disgraced South African rapper Pitch Black Afro – real name Thulani Ngcobo is said to be back in the studio following his release from prison on 18 August 2023, ZiMoja reported.
PITCH BLACK AFRO IS ALLEGEDLY BACK IN THE STUDIO
Pitch Black Afro has been keeping a low profile since he was released from Leeuwkop prison last year. According to the publication, a source speaking with them said that the rapper has been spending some of his time making music again with a friend, Molly Wood.
“He [Pitch Black Afro] is intentionally trying to stay away from the public and being in the limelight because of conditions to his parole. He is not proud of what happened,” the source was quoted as saying.
The Matofotofo hitmaker was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison for culpable homicide after his wife was found dead in a B&B in Johannesburg in 2018.
“Music has always been his passion… He sings about wishing he could see her again and tell her how much he loves her. It is a tribute to his woman… how people will receive the song, we will wait and see,’ the source was quoted as saying.

“The department can confirm that [he] was released as his sentence expired on 18 August 2023. He benefited from the special remission of sentence,” Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo told the publication.
